I built this 7-string travel guitar for myself. The body is VG Douglas fir, with the top carved like an archtop and theback hollowed out, for a "clamshell" style construction. The neck is sitka spruce with an Indian rosewood fretboard. I made the aluminum tuning tailpiece from these plans. As you can imagine, the guitar is incredibly lightweight, and the sound is more like an archtop than a solid body. It's also very comfortable to play with its ergonomic shape.
