How to Order:
Just choose your favorite Doolin Guitar model, choose your options, and e-mail me or call me at (503)236-2424.
We'll talk about your playing style, your musical preferences and your favorite woods, and we'll decide together what kind of guitar I should build for you. Whether it's a particular combination of woods, a special neck width, custom pearl inlay work, more or less than 6 strings, more than one neck... almost anything is possible. Custom options are priced additionally at the time of order.
Once I begin work on your guitar, I'll take progress pictures of it at several steps along the way and e-mail them to you. You'll see the woods I select; you'll see the inside of your top after it's braced; you'll see the inside of the body after it's assembled. You'll get a view of your guitar's inner workings that no one else gets except me!
Deposits and Payment
I ask for a deposit of $1000 USD to reserve an instrument or to begin construction of a custom instrument; the balance is then due before delivery. All transactions must be in U.S. funds or equivalent, as cash, money order, or certified bank draft. Personal checks are accepted, but must clear before the instrument can be shipped. Final satisfaction of CITES or any other necessary export/import regulations are the responsibility of the owner.
Standard and Custom Instrument Return Policy
In general, all instruments must be paid for in full before delivery. I have a 15-day "Right of First Refusal" policy, so if you are not satisfied for any reason you may return the instrument for a full refund, less any shipping expenses. In the case of standard instruments, the purchase price will be refunded immediately upon return of the instrument; for custom instruments, refund of the purchase price will be contingent on resale of the instrument. (Here, I define a "custom instrument" as one which is different enough from my standard instruments that I believe it will be more difficult for me to sell to someone else. I will offer a refused instrument to clients on my waiting list, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to resell a custom instrument.) If an instrument is not returned in original condition, the cost of restoration will be deducted.
